Enterprise Suite: System Requirements
Sage Enterprise Suite is an innovative 32-bit application that has been designed from the ground up to utilize the numerous attributes found in Windows 95 and Windows NT, the RDBMS technology found in SQL Server, and current hardware performance and throughput. The following table defines minimum system requirements for both client and server machines.*
Minimum System Requirements SQL Server
- Intel Pentium® class (350 MHz or better recommended) or DEC Alpha class processor
- Minimum of 128MB of RAM (recommendation varies based on user count)
- Windows NT Server 4.0 with Service Pack 5 of higher
- Microsoft® SQL Server™ 7.0 with Service Pack 1 or SQL Server 6.5 with Service Pack 5a
- Minimum 430 MB of available disk space
Network File Server
- Pentium II processor (dual is preferred)
- Minimum of 64MB of RAM for Windows NT
- 300MB of available disk space
- Available share point or shared volume
- 10MB/s network connection
- SCSI hard drives
Local Client
- Pentium II class or better processor
- Minimum of 64MB of RAM (128MB or more recommended)
- SVGA Monitor and Video Drivers (800x600 resolution)
- 300MB of available disk space for a local client installation
- 500MB of available disk space for a network client installation
- Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0
- A default print device
Production environments may vary, but greatly enhanced performance has been measured when employing multiprocessor servers with higher grade Pentium II clients running with 128 MB of RAM. We recommend that the server be dedicated to SQL Server processes, running only additional processes essential to a database server. In general, hardware and networking solutions should be carefully reviewed to include not only current, but also future application and performance requirements. Sage Software strongly encourages Sage Enterprise Suite customers to contact support immediately prior to executing an upgrade to obtain the most recent information about the upgrade process from our award winning technical support team. Upgrades should be executed only by qualified Sage Enterprise Suite Solution Providers in conjunction with your data base administrator.
*If operating with hardware that does not meet the suggested standards, your Enterprise Suite operating performance may be adversely affected.
